The Warri Boys Association, Lagos branch President, Chief Godwin Okene, has called on Delta State electorate to eschew violence and any act of thuggery as the nation prepares for the gubernatorial election billed for March 9, 2019.

Okene added that any form of negative activity or anti-social behaviour will be inimical to a peaceful and orderly gubernatorial election if the electorate do not conduct themselves well at the polling booths.
According to him, the Niger Deltans have always been known to be peaceful, law-abiding and very accommodating people who cherish freedom and peace.
He advised that these virtues which have remained sacrosanct with the people should be upheld before, during and after the gubernatorial election; adding that election should not be seen as a ‘do or die’ affair.
“Let me again urge our people in Delta State to remain law-abiding, peaceful and orderly as we approach the gubernatorial election. It is also important that we know that elections should not be seen as ‘war’ but as an opportunity to elect capable and honest leaders that will impact positively in the lives of the people,” he said.
