The suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has explained how she reached the decision to use helicopter to visit her constituents recently.
Police had asked organisers to cancel Senator Natasha’s homecoming event, citing security concerns. The state government also banned convoys, while her local government area declared curfew.
However, the Senator defied all that, using helicopter to land at the venue of the event, prompting joyous celebrations from her supporters who were anxiously waiting for her.

Asked on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Thursday how she arrived at the decision to use helicopter for the journey, the lawmaker said, “That was my husband’s idea, it was a last-minute thing. We wanted to celebrate the Sallah with my constituents which I always do.
“Even before I became a Senator, I usually send down some materials and some grains for them to share and the last few days of Sallah I do spend with them. Then in the wake of events I couldn’t go earlier, but I said I should be with them on the very last day of the holiday.”
